What is a Warrior?
This is essentially the theme to this whole blog and the grounding with which we should all seek to direct our lives.
I will expand more upon the greater intricacies of the warrior’s path in months to come, but for now, may you allow this statement to suffice:
“The true challenge of a warrior is to arrive at a very subtle balance of positive and negative forces. This challenge does not mean that a warrior should strive to have everything under control, but that a warrior should strive to meet any conceivable situation, the expected and the unexpected, with equal efficiency. To be perfect under perfect circumstances is to be a paper warrior. Our current challenge, whether it is to remain behind [our group] or to strike onward into the unknowable, are both equally consuming challenges. Because for a warrior, the excitation of staying put is equal to the excitation of the journey.”
And may this incantation help you to bear witness to the vastness beyond the you you know, and remember the infinitude of your journey through the wheel of time:
I am already given to the power that rules my fate.
And I cling to nothing, so I will have nothing to defend.
I have no thoughts, so I will see.
I fear nothing, so I will remember myself.
Detached and at ease,
I will dart past the Eagle to be free.
